Formal Consultation on Wallisdown Parking Zone Extension...

The extension to the Raleigh Road, Benbow Crescent & Wallisdown Road Service Road Resident’s Parking Zone is being advertised. Whether you support it or oppose it you need to get your representations in by September 8th. We asked for the whole area that is likely to be affected by displacement of parking to be included in the advertisement as you cannot add to what is advertised, but you can do less.

The resident’s parking zone is a 2 hour restriction Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm except for Resident Permit holders. These currently cost £42 but are due to be increased to around £51 over the next two years. The original proposal, which we defeated, was to DOUBLE the charge to £84 per year in 2 years.

Added to the adverts are restrictions on junctions nearby which the emergency services and refuse collectors identified as causing them access problems. In doing these at the same time it meant that the Area Committee would save enough money to get a whole scheme done, rather than phase it over two years.

The results of the consultation will be reported back at the next Alderney and Branksome Area Committee to be held on Wednesday 5th October 2011 – venue TBA.

PLEASE RESPOND BEFORE SEPTEMBER 15th – see the links to each plan below.
